Calpe, Spain

My mother in-law is turning 70 this summer, and for her birthday celebration, she invited us to stay one week with her in Spain.

With the previous cold Norwegian summers in mind, we didn't need much persuasion to say "yes!". I mean, who can say no to a week of vacation in the sun, by the sea? Not us, that's for sure.

It turned out to be a great time to be in Spain in. The heat wasn't too bad this early in the season, and the area wasn't to crowded with other tourists.

We spent a few days relaxing by the pool, a few days by the beach in Calpe, and a few days exploring the area; From Altea in the south, to Valencia in the north.

Here are some shots from Calpe and Altea. I will follow up with a separate post on our trip to the Valencia aquarium next week.

As you probably can tell from the picture of Sebastain, he had a really great time on the beach. He was really busy digging in the sand, carrying water everywhere and playing with his cars. And I don't think he has ever seen so much ice-cream ever before..... ;)
