Skywatch

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug

These great shots of the sunset were taken in Tavira this summer.

There was a huge fire not to far from where we stayed. The air was thick with smoke, and ash was "raining" from the sky for three days.

Aside from the smell and the ash, it did not bother us much, as long as we stayed at the beach. And being forced to stay at the beach is not a bad thing when you are on holiday.

I thought the view would be a great contribution to the skywatcher theme one day. I'm only sorry it took this long to get it out there.

  8. Calling by from Skywatch Friday, I never fail to be impressed by the skies Mother Nature sends us and your compositions are a beautiful example, even if it was a sad reason, the fire that caused such beauty.

  9. Sometimes I find it difficult to tell the difference between a sunset and a sunrise when the location of shooting is not made clear!
I have posted my second study of a sunrise today, comparing the before (last week) and after difference of the glare. Taken from the
beach your shot was surprisingly without the usual mottling of the whole sky!
