Rome in 120 minutes (and a bit)

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMugA business trip took brought me to Rome in the middle of October. I've never been to Rome before, so I was pretty excited.

Unfortunately, I did not have any extra time off to explore this amazing city, and I knew my two days in Rome would be packed with a strict schedule. I planned for a quick sightseeing on the the evening I arrived. But the (Roman) gods wouldn't let me have it my way. My flight to Rome was delayed, and all I had time for the day I arrived, was a quick (and late, very late) dinner.

On the second day, however, I had 2 hours to spare. I was daunted by how much I really wanted to see in what seemed to be way to little time. When I think about it, I'm pretty amazed at how much I got to see in 120 minutes. Since many of the sites are within walking distance from each other, I put on my sneakers and went "power-sightseeing".

I started of by finding the "Spanish square" (Not to far from my hotel), then darted of to "Forum Romanum". I then continued to Colosseum before "returning" to the Trevi Fountain, which also was close to my hotel.

Keen eyes will see a shot from the Pantheon here as well, but that shot was taken just before dinner on the third day (and doesn't count in my 120min walk).

One thing is for sure. My visit to Rome left me with a hunger for more. I will most certainly try to come back one day, and bring my family with me :)
