Skywatch Friday, Season 4, Episode 50

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMug
It's Thursday evening in Bergen, and time to enter the Skywatch Friday again. What better to do, than to grab a few shots from last week's Lunar eclipse?

Taking these shots was really hard, as I don't have a lot of practice, and the moon was far darker than i had imagined.
Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMugMy first shots were taken with long exposures, but I soon realized the moon moved during the 20-30 seconds. It was only after I reduced the shutter speed to less than 5 secs I was able to get something useful.

Unfortunately it took a while to find the right combination of ISO, shutter and aperture settings. As a result of this, all my shots are from after the eclipse was at it's peak.

These shots were taken in the south of Spain, in a small town at the coast. Fortunately for me, there was little "light pollution" in the area.
